Imparting Digital Education – An Engine for Sustainable Rural Development for the students of Government High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools

Digital literacy programs provide students the opportunity to expand their horizons to learn and adapt to this online world. Computer proficiency is increasingly indispensable to enhance efficiency, workflow and improve overall experience. Students need to be equipped with strong set of skills in order to enter into a digital competitive work force. With such an incredible civic sense and social responsibility V.O.Chidambaram College in collaboration with the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (I.E.C.D.), Bharathidasan University has the highest inclination to initiate a computer learning center for providing digital literacy, in the college campus at free of cost to the most deserving students of the government high schools and higher secondary schools hailing from remote rural areas of the Thoothukudi district.Such a grandiose endeavor ““Imparting Digital Education – An Engine for Sustainable Rural Development for the students of Government High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools”Was launched on the 28th of March , 2022 at V.O.Chidambaram College,Tuticorin.The program started with the Tamilthai Vaalthu and the lighting of the Kuthuvilakku by the dignatories present. The Principal of V.O.Chidambaram College, Dr.C.Veerabahu welcomed the gathering. The Vice-Chancellor of Bharadhidasan University Dr.V.Selvam inaugurated the initiative online and addressed the audience . Dr.K.Senthil Raj , the collector of Thoothukudi District delivered the presidential address. The honorary Secretary of V.O.Chidambaram College Thiru.A.P.C.V.Chockalingam and the Chief Educational Officer of Thoothukudi district Thiru K.Bala Thandayuthabani felicitated the function. The Director of I.E.C.D., Bharadhidasan University Dr. E.Ramganesh proposed the vote of thanks.
